As the leaves change and the weather cools down, you can tell fall has arrived and summer is on its way out. To celebrate the changing of seasons, here’s a look back at some of our favorite memories from summer 2016.
BESt Pharmacy Institute 2016
Wednesday, June 13–Friday, July 22
The BESt Pharmacy Institute educated and trained high school students over the summer to help prepare them for a career in pharmacy. The students participated in professional development and activities in the College’s Academic and Research Building.
Move-In Day 2016
Monday, Aug. 15
Current students helped incoming freshmen and transfer students move into the Residence Hall. The class of 2023 continued the day unpacking and getting adjusted to campus.
Welcome Back BBQ and Campus Resource Fair
Thursday, Aug. 25
Students enjoyed kicking off the semester with a day of food, fun and games while learning more about student organizations.
2016 White Coat Ceremony
Friday, Aug. 26
The class of 2020 was celebrated during the annual White Coat Ceremony to mark their progression into the Doctor of Pharmacy program. Representative of the long-standing relationship between the College and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), C. Edwin Webb, Pharm.D., associate executive director of the ACCP, was the featured speaker.

Liberal Arts Convocation: Susannah Cahalan
Tuesday, Sept. 6
President John A. Pieper gets his copy of “Brain on Fire” signed by author Susannah Cahalan. Cahalan presented on her personal battle with a rare autoimmune disease and her path to recovery.
Research in Ireland
Thursday, Sept. 15
Anne-Marie Healy, professor in pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical technology at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) presented on research activities and opportunities available to students in Dublin as part of a partnership between STLCOP and TCD.
Missouri Pharmacy Association (MPA) Annual Conference and Expo
Thursday, Sept. 8–Friday, Sept. 16
During the MPA Annual Conference and Expo, Misty (Collier) Farr ’10, Walmart pharmacy manager, received the Distinguished Young Pharmacist award, Alicia Forinash ’00/’01, professor of pharmacy practice, received the Excellence in Innovation award, and Jamie Pitlick, associate professor of pharmacy practice, was named MPA Faculty Member of the Year. Scholarship Awards Dinner
Thursday, Sept. 15
P3 student Anahit Simonyan, president of Student Pharmacists Association, applauded her peers for their academic and professional achievements during the annual Scholarship Awards Dinner. Throughout the evening, scholarships were awarded to 198 students for the 2016-17 academic year totaling $519,500.
St. Louis Symphony

The St. Louis Symphony performed for the STLCOP community and its surrounding partners, Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
