Performing Arts

STLCOP students produce at least two theatrical and two musical productions each year, which generally include a fall drama, a spring musical, a variety show and a choral performance.

Auditions
All students can audition for roles in the performances. Audition notices are usually sent out through e-mail and are announced on posters throughout campus. If students are interested in assisting with backstage duties, costumes or set design, they should contact Tim Moylan, director of theater programs, at TMoylan@stlcop.edu.

Theater Courses
Courses in theater are available to interested students. Students in those classes  are welcome to become involved in productions; however, students are not required to take a theater course to be in the shows.

Performance
An average of four shows are performed throughout the year. In the fall, students put on a popular theater drama. The spring musical showcases talents of student vocalists, dancers and actors. The Student Council-sponsored variety show has become a popular annual event, and a student choral group performs throughout the year.

Each show is performed in Whelpley Auditorium, begins at 7:30 p.m., and generally runs for three performances.

Admission
Admission for all STLCOP students, faculty and staff to STLCOP student performances is free. Ticket prices for non-STLCOP attendees are $4-$5.
