Amy Tiemeier, Pharm.D., BCPS, director, community partnerships and associate director, experiential education and associate professor, pharmacy practice, has been named to the St. Louis Business Journal’s 2018 class of “40 Under 40” honorees. Each year, the publication compiles the list of 40 young professionals who are making their mark on the local community.

Tiemeier was recognized for her many efforts to fight the battle against opioid abuse in the St. Louis area. Over the years, her work has included increasing public awareness of prescription medication abuse, driving participation in medication disposal initiatives and educating pharmacists and health care providers on their role in opioid abuse prevention.

“It is such an honor to be recognized alongside such a talented and successful group of professionals,” said Tiemeier. “As the College continues to be on the frontlines of the fight against opioid abuse, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to put my talents to use for the St. Louis community and the region as a whole.”

Tiemeier’s accomplishments will be featured in the St. Louis Business Journal’s Feb. 16 issue. On Feb. 22, she will be formally recognized at an awards banquet at America’s Center.
