St. Louis College of Pharmacy Students to Receive White Coats
and Take Pledge to the Profession

What: White Coat Ceremony.

When: Thursday, Aug. 26, 2009, 6 p.m.

Where: St. Louis College of Pharmacy, 4588 Parkview Place. The event will be held on the Quad. A campus map is available here.

About this event: This is an annual ceremony. Students in their third year are welcomed into the professional portion of their studies. They receive their white pharmacy coats and take the Pledge of Profession, which was composed by third-year student Amanda Hetland. Nearly 200 students will participate in the ceremony.

About St. Louis College of Pharmacy: Founded in 1864, St. Louis College of Pharmacy is one of the oldest and largest colleges of pharmacy in America. The College admits students directly from high school and integrates the liberal arts and sciences with a six-year professional curriculum leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. Approximately 1,250 students attend, and more than 72 percent of practicing pharmacists in the St. Louis metropolitan area are alumni.
