Spring into Health Community Day

What: Spring into Health Community Day

When: Saturday, March 12, 9 a.m. to noon

Where: Progressive Missionary Baptist Church (702 Banks Ave., Columbia, Mo.). For more information, contact Necole Powell at 314-494-9235.

About this Event: It is free and open to the community. There will be a medication review; blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar screenings; confidential HIV testing; Medicare benefits information; prescription drug abuse information; and information about free and/or low-cost health care services in the Columbia area. Additionally, there will be an “Ask-the-Pharmacist” panel discussion were pharmacy experts will discuss medication and health-related issues.

About St. Louis College of Pharmacy: Founded in 1864, St. Louis College of Pharmacy is one of the oldest and largest colleges of pharmacy in the nation. The College admits students directly from high school and integrates the liberal arts and sciences with a six-year professional curriculum leading to the doctor of pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. More than 1,200 students attend, and more than 72 percent of practicing pharmacists in the St. Louis region are alumni.
