Record Enrollment at St. Louis College of Pharmacy
ST. LOUIS (Aug. 22, 2011) – St. Louis College of Pharmacy has attracted more students than ever and has set new enrollment records as students returned to school. Today, the College welcomed 1,265 students to campus. Of that total, 256 are first-year students and 41 are third-year transfer students from other colleges and universities around the country.
STLCOP’s previous enrollment record was 1,234 in 2009. For the last three years, enrollment at the College has surpassed 1,200 students.
STLCOP students hail from 28 states and Canada.
This year’s first-year students represent 15 states – with the majority coming from Missouri (45 percent) and Illinois (41 percent). Of the total, 63 percent are female and 37 percent are male. The average high school GPA is 3.61 and the mean ACT score is 27.
Currently, STLCOP is the 10th largest Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program in the nation and one of more than 100 pharmacy schools in the United States.
About St. Louis College of Pharmacy: Founded in 1864, St. Louis College of Pharmacy is one of the oldest and largest colleges of pharmacy in America. It integrates the liberal arts and sciences with a six-year professional curriculum leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. The College admits students directly from high school and accepts transfers from other colleges and universities. Approximately 1,265 students attend, and more than 72 percent of practicing pharmacists in the St. Louis metropolitan area are alumni.
