St. Louis College of Pharmacy and Washington University School of Medicine Agree to Exchange Land
ST. LOUIS St. Louis College of Pharmacy and Washington University have reached an agreement to swap about 1.2 acres in the Central West End.
Under terms of the deal, the College is acquiring two separate surface parking lots from the University. Those lots are located on the southwest and northwest corner of Parkview Place and Taylor Avenue.
In return, the University will receive a lot, located at 4520 Forest Park Ave. The building currently at that site is being demolished on Sept. 3. The deal will be finalized shortly after the Forest Park site is cleared.
In acquiring the two parking lots, which are adjacent to campus, St. Louis College of Pharmacy has an opportunity to grow and meet the needs of future students and its faculty and staff, said President Thomas Patton. Its vitally important for the College to improve its physical capabilities to most effectively educate future pharmacists. Those pharmacists will greatly contribute to the health and wellbeing of everyone in our community.
With a current record enrollment of 1,234 students, the College is nearing maximum capacity.
Additionally, through a lease agreement, Washington University will retain access to the Parkview Place and Taylor Avenue parking lots until the College begins to develop the land.
