Kimberly Simmons obtained her Pharm.D. and MBA in 2008 from Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and E.W Stetson School of Business and Economics, respectively. Following graduate studies, she completed a one year post-graduate residency with focus in drug information in academia and industry, after which she practiced for four years within the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. In 2009, Dr. Simmons undertook the role of Public Relations Director for the National Pharmaceutical Association, Atlanta Chapter where she was instrumental in promoting the collective interests of minorities seeking employment in health-related careers and admissions into healthcare programs.

Dr. Simmons became the Assistant Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion and Assistant Professor in Pharmacy Practice in 2012. In her role she will collaborate with members of the STLCOP community – including Enrollment Services, Human Resources, Advancement, academic departments and student groups in addition to civic partners, corporate leadership, and local and national organizations. Dr. Simmons is responsible for advancing STLCOP’s commitment to all aspects of institutional diversity that are essential to academic excellence. Her responsibilities include supporting and cultivating inclusiveness, strategically leading diversity planning efforts, and elevating the visibility of STLCOP diversity initiatives and support within the St. Louis community.
