Eutectic cross country head coach David Baker assembles the team for practices the week before classes begin in August. The six or seven meets on the schedule are held on weekends. The conference championship takes place in November.

Patel PRs at Southern Stampede

The Eutectics traveled to Joplin, Mo., to compete for the first time at the Missouri Southern Stampede on Saturday, Sept. 20. Second-year Janki Patel led the team in 56th place with a personal 5K record of 20:05, shaving nine seconds from her previous best.  The Eutectics finished 20th of 24 teams entered at the meet. Third-year Sarah Pollmann, recovering from a respiratory infection, was the second Eutectic to finish in 75th place (20:30). Third-year Jamie Hundsdorfer (140th in 22:17), first-year Hannah Teer (163rd in 23:00), and fourth-year Bethany Chew (180th in 24:02) rounded out the Eutectic top five.

The Euts will next race at the Illinois College Invitational in Jacksonville, Ill., on Saturday, Oct. 11.

 Pollmann Sets PR at Forest Park XC Festival

Third-year Sarah Pollmann led the Eutectics across the finish line with a new personal 5K record at the Forest Park Cross Country Festival hosted by Saint Louis University on Friday, Sept. 12. Pollmann, who remains the second-fastest runner in St. Louis College of Pharmacy history, dropped 14 seconds off her PR by finishing at 19:35 in 40th place. The Eutectics were 11th of 14 teams with 324 points, behind two other AMC teams, Missouri Baptist University (11th with 312 points) and William Woods University (8th with 247). The Euts beat out the only other NAIA schools entered in the race: Oakland City University (12th with 363) and Culver-Stockton College (13th with 376).

Second-year Janki Patel was the second Eutectic to cross the finish line in 57th place (20:31). She was followed by third-year Jamie Hundsdorfer in 70th (22:39), first-year Alise Snyders in 77th (24:08), and fourth-year Bethany Chew in 80th (24:16).

The Euts will next race at the Missouri Southern Stampede on Saturday, Sept. 20.
