Eutectic cross country head coach David Baker assembles the team for practices the week before classes begin in August. The six or seven meets on the schedule are held on weekends. The conference championship takes place in November.

Pollmann Breaks Record; Euts Compete Well at Early Bird Meet

The Eutectic women’s cross country team opened the season on Saturday at the Gabby Reuveni Early Bird Meet hosted by Washington University in St. Louis’s Forest Park. The Eutectic team finished seventh of 10 teams at the meet, beating out conference foes Williams Baptist (9th) and Missouri Baptist (10th).

Third-year Sarah Pollmann made Eutectic history by smashing the current STLCOP 4K record held by Amy Hall since 2008 by nearly a minute. Pollmann finished with a time of 15:41, averaging 6:19 per mile, in 20th place.

Second-year Janki Patel placed 36th with a time of 16:30, followed by third-year Jamie Hundsdorfer at 17:58 (50th), first-year Hannah Teer at 19:03 (52nd), and first-year Alise Snyder at 19:26 (54th).

The Eutectics will next compete at the Forest Park Cross Country Festival hosted by Saint Louis University on Friday, Sept. 12.
