Grants & Loans
At least 96% of St. Louis College of Pharmacy students receive some sort of financial assistance. If you have financial need, an award package will likely include a combination of three possible financial aid options - grants, work-study and loans. Families are strongly encouraged to apply for need-based financial aid by completing the required Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form provides the information needed to offer you the assistance for which you are eligible.
Grants are need-based funds that do not need to be repaid. The amount granted varies according to your financial need. The following grants are awarded to STLCOP students:
- Federal Pell Grant
- Federal Supplement Educational Opportunity Grant
- Missouri State Grant Program
- Academic Competiveness Grant
Loan programs are available for students and parents who wish to borrow money to help meet their educational expenses. STLCOP students are eligible for several low-interest and fixed-interest loan programs:
- Federal Stafford Loans
- Federal Perkins Loan
- Federal Health Professions Loan
- Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)
- Private Alternative Loans
Federal work-study provides part-time job opportunities for students to supplement other financial aid. Work-study students work an average of five to six hours per week and can earn approximately $1,200 each year.
