Students at St. Louis College of Pharmacy progress through a six-year curriculum which integrates courses in liberal arts and sciences with a professional program leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. Nearly 1,300 students from 30 states are currently enrolled at the College.
In many ways, STLCOP is like a small liberal arts college, with over 50 student organizations, NAIA intercollegiate athletics, and nearly 400 students living on campus during the school year. The main difference is that all students are studying one major - pharmacy. However, this common bond creates a strong support structure from fellow students, faculty, and staff. In addition, the campus is located in St. Louis' Central West End in one of the premier medical complexes in the country.
STLCOP is truly a community of scholars. This year's freshmen class had the following high school averages:
Average ACT score was 27
Average class rank for incoming freshmen was in the top 15 percent
Average high school grade point average was 3.65
During the sixth year of the curriculum, students participate in a series of eight five-week pharmacy rotations. After finishing the rotations and receiving their Pharm.D. degree, the students apply for state licensure. About 97 percent of the College's graduates pass their licensure exams on their first attempt. STLCOP alumni practice in 49 states and 13 countries.
